I'VE TAKEN MANY PHOTOGRAPHS
of the HAG, mostly using my wife, Jacqueline. Many of them can be seen elsewhere on this site and on our personal site (dnstuefloten.com) and the site of my new movie and novel, evidenceofalostcity.com. How to use these photos for the novel, however, was something of an issue. I didnt want them to look exactly like photos--I dont want "realism" here. So I have been experimenting with various tricks in Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, inverting the images, changing textures, and so on. These resulting images, I feel, look better next to pages of text, somehow more appropriate than the usual color or even normal black and white images would look.
