PHOTOS FROM THE NOVEL: A Slide Show

The photos for the Hag novel required some thought. To keep the priice of the book down, I wanted to use black and white images and normal paper stock. But printing half-tones on porous paper is always problematic. So I decided to make the photographs more like line drawings. This made them easier to print, and gave them, I think, a distinctive look. All the photos are of Jacqueline, and were taken over several years, often for other projects. But she was always, in my mind, emblematic of the Hag—that mysterious muse-like creature—so all of them seemed to belong here.
